He was also a member of an SEC championship and record setting 400 Medley relay team. His swimming career culminated when he competed in the 2000 Olympic Trials back home in Indianapolis.
In his tenure as a coach of ACST he has shown that he is committed to both ACST and Indiana Swimming. He has become ASCA level 2 certified, and attends many professional conferences and seminars. Coach Karr has also represented ACST as both an assistant and a head coach at Indiana Swimming sponsored camps. He has also been a member of the Indiana Zone Team’s coaching staff. Coach Karr would like to thank you for being a valued member of our team. He knows what it takes to be successful in this sport, and he is thrilled for the opportunity to share his knowledge and experience with the parents and athletes of ACST.

Brayton Allen
Head Age Group Coach - Lead Platinum Coach
brayton.a150@gmail.com
The 2022-2023 season begins Coach Brayton's third season with ACST. We are happy to have his high energy and experience here at ACST. In High School as a swimmer, his leadership and athletic abilities were on diplay and resulted in being a team captain and winning high point awards at Decatur Central High School.
He graduated in 2015 and started at Franklin College. In 2017, he found himself back in the pool as a swim coach, and that is where his coaching journey began. In 2019 he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science with Fitness and Coaching minors. He has been using his degree as his approach to the sport of swimming because he believes education is the foundation for the strongest swimmers. He like to focus specifically on the biomechanics of movement, the different physiologic components that the sport can include, and hit hard on the importance of fuel and recovery of the body.
He has really enjoyed the educational piece of coaching and has decided to go into teaching. He is currently a substitute teacher for Avon High School and working toward earning his teaching license over the next couple years. His favorite and most meaningful personal achievements he has earned as a coach so far is receiving a personally written letter and getting recognition at a scholarship banquet as a mentor and influencer of student athletes. We are excited for our athletes to be coached and mentored by Brayton.
